The reconstruction work on the Hinglaj Mata temple is underway in full swing. The Balochistan government had decided to prepare a master plan for the ancient Hinglaj Mata temple to improve its structure.

Chief Secretary Balochistan, Abdul Aziz Uqaili took to the social media network Twitter and said that the work on the ancient temple was in full swing. “I am personally monitoring it. If we are able to develop this site, it will become a source of huge revenue and a symbol of religious tolerance in the region”, Mr. Uqaili stated.

It is one of the 51 Shakti Peethas

It is one of the 51 Shakti Peethas in the Shaktism denomination of Hinduism. It is one of the three Shakti Peethas in Pakistan, the other two being Shivaharkaray and Sharada Peeth, Azad Jammu Kashmir.

It is a form of Durga or Devi in a mountain cavern on the banks of the Hingol River. Over the last three decades, the place has gained increasing popularity and became a unifying point of reference for Pakistan’s many Hindu communities.
