QUETTA: Chief Minister Balochistan Mir Abdul Quddus Bizenjo and Chairman Senate Pakistan Sadiq Sanjrani have been active for the last two days to keep the ruling Balochistan Awami Party (BAP) intact prior to the fast-approaching General Elections 2023.
The two leaders held detailed meetings with the founder of BAP Senator Saeed Ahmed Hashmi, Speaker of Balochistan Assembly Jan Muhammad Jamali, Senators Manzoor Kakar and Naseeb Ullah Bazai.
“We have decided to contest elections through the platform of BAP”, Mir Quddus Bizenjo said. He said the BAP was very much intact and in contact with its supporters to ensure victory in the upcoming General Elections of 2023.
Jam Kamal, Bugti, and Kakar likely to quit BAP
Former CM Balochistan, Jam Kamal Khan, Senator Sarfaraz Bugti, Senator Anwar Ul Haq Kakar and some other leaders of the party have abandoned BAP support. However, a formal announcement is yet to be made by them. Former Senior Minister Mir Zahoor Buledi, Arif Jan Muhammad Hassani, and Saleem Khan Khoso have already parted their ways with the ruling BAP. They have joined Pakistan People’s Party (PPP).
Sanjrani instrumental in re-organizing BAPÂ
Chairman Senate Sadiq Sanjrani has been instrumental in bringing all BAP leaders closer to each other to keep the once-largest parliamentary party of the province intact.
Home Minister Balochistan Mir Zia Ullah Langove also issued a statement to the press and vowed to contest elections on the platform of BAP.
BAP emerged as the largest parliamentary group in the province after the General Elections of 2018. Earlier Jam Kamal Khan was the President of BAP, however, CM Balochistan Mir Quddus Bizenjo is now leading the party.
