QUETTA: Chief Minister Balochistan, Mir Quddus Bizenjo refused to sign the letter about the nomination of Ali Mardan Domki, the candidate for the caretaker CM in Balochistan. CM Bizenjo suddenly disappeared and handed over all protocol vehicles to the staff in the Balochistan House Islamabad.
“Members of our parliamentary committee were waiting till 3 am in the midnight but Mr. Bizenjo did not come”, a senior leader of the Jamiat ul Ulema e Islam (JUI) said. He requested anonymity because of the political sensitivity of the matter.
Parliamentary committee to decide the fate of caretaker CM in Balochistan
Subsequently, the matter of the nomination of the caretaker CM Balochistan was handed over to the parliamentary committee. The opposition leader in Balochistan Assembly, Malik Sikandar Advocate nominated three members committee including Abdul Wahid Siddiqui, Haji Nawaz Kakar, and Younas Aziz Zehri.
However, Chief Minister Balochistan, Mir Quddus Bizenjo, Sardar Abdul Rehman Khetran and Zamarak Achakzai are members of the government benches to nominate the caretaker CM of the province.
Sources close to Quddus Bizenjo said the latter strongly opposed the name of Ali Mardan Domki as the caretaker Chief Minister of Balochistan rather pressed for his own candidates including Mir Hamal Kalmati, Senator Kahuda Babar and others.
JUI recommended Usman Badini and Ali Mardan Domki for the CM ship
So far, the JUI parliamentary committee has recommended two names Mir Usman Badini and Ali Mardan Domki for the slot of caretaker CM in Balochistan. This caused cracks among the members of the opposition in the Balochistan Assembly.
Parliamentary leader of BNP in the Balochistan Assembly, Malik Naseer Shahwani wrote a letter to the Speaker Balochistan Assembly and expressed their reservations with regard to the nomination of JUI for the slot of caretaker CM in the province.
BNP Chief Sardar Akhtar Mengal also held a detailed meeting with Maulana Fazal ur Rehman, the Chief of the JUI in this regard. However, no consensus was developed between the BNP and JUI regarding the nomination of the consensus candidate for CM ship in Balochistan.
