QUETTA: A leader of the Awami National Party (ANP, Arbab Ghullam Kasi was killed in a firing incident in the Kuchlak area of the provincial capital. Police sources said the dead body of the ANP leader was found near a village in Kuchlak. Abid Raza Mengal, the Station House Officer (SHO) Kuchlak told Daily Quetta Voice that a pistol was also recovered from the spot.

The dead body of the ANP leader was shifted to the civil hospital Quetta. A large number of ANP supporters reached the hospital after the dead body was brought. Police also reached the spot of the incident and started an investigation into the incident.

Postmortem of the dead body of the ANP leader would be conducted to ascertain the cause of death, police said. Balochistan President of the ANP, Asghar Khan Achakzai has strongly condemned the killing and demanded of the government to arrest the culprits behind the killing. He lashed out at the provincial government for its failure to protect the lives and properties of the masses.

The motive behind the killing of the ANP leader could not be ascertained immediately.
