Chaman– At least one Levies soldier was martyred and another injured on Thursday when unknown armed men opened fire on their official vehicle near Killi Taki in Chaman, a town in Balochistan.

According to reports, the Levies personnel were patrolling the bypass road when they were ambushed by the attackers. The gunmen fled the scene after the attack.

Injured Soldier Rushed To The Hospital

The injured soldier was rushed to a nearby hospital for medical treatment.

Security forces have cordoned off the area and launched a search operation to apprehend the culprits.

The motive behind the attack is not yet known. However, Balochistan has witnessed a surge in violence in recent months, with targeted attacks on security personnel and civilians becoming increasingly common.

Govt Announced Compensation

The Balochistan government has announced compensation for the family of the martyred soldier.

The attack is a reminder of the fragile security situation in Balochistan. The province has been plagued by violence for decades, with separatist militants, sectarian groups, and criminal gangs all vying for control.
