Syed Ali Shah:
QUETTA: President Asif Ali Zardari embarked on his maiden visit to Quetta following his assumption of the presidency. Upon his arrival, he was warmly welcomed by Governor Balochistan, Sheikh Jaffar Mandokhail, and Chief Minister Balochistan, Mir Sarfaraz Bugti. Notable Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) leaders such as Mir Sadiq Umrani, Ali Madad Jattak, and Mir Changaiz Jamali were also present at the Quetta International Airport to receive the President.
The entire stretch of the airport road in Quetta was cordoned off by the police as a security measure ahead of the President’s arrival. Baton-wielding officers were stationed along the routes through which the presidential convoy would pass, ensuring tightened security to forestall any potential disturbances.
President Zardari’s visit spans two days, during which he is scheduled to engage in various activities. He will address the Balochistan provincial cabinet, engage with party leaders and grassroots workers, and receive briefings on the ongoing development initiatives and the prevailing law and order situation in Balochistan.
The President’s visit underscores the significance of Balochistan in the national political landscape and signals the government’s commitment to addressing the province’s concerns and fostering development and stability.
