High ranking officials pray for the departed soul of Zakir Baloch, the DC Panjgur

QUETTA: The funeral prayer for Zakir Baloch, the Deputy Commissioner of Panjgur, was offered in Quetta on Tuesday, drawing the attendance of several high-ranking officials.

Among those present were Governor Balochistan Sheikh Jaffar Khan Mandokhail, Chief Minister Mir Sarfaraz Bugti, and Corps Commander Lieutenant General Rahat Naseem Ahmed Khan. The somber ceremony was a reflection of the profound loss felt by the community and the government alike.

Zakir Baloch was tragically killed in a terrorist attack in the Kadkucha area of Mastung. The attack, which targeted the DC while he was on duty, has been widely condemned across the nation. Officials have expressed their deep sorrow and outrage over the incident, calling it a cowardly act aimed at destabilizing the province, plagued by violent attacks. The Chief Minister, in his statement, vowed to bring the perpetrators to justice and reiterated the government’s commitment to eradicating terrorism from Balochistan.

Following the funeral, Zakir Baloch’s body was transported to his native town for burial. The loss of the Deputy Commissioner is a significant blow to the region, where he was known for his dedication and service. The government has pledged full support to his family during this difficult time.
