QUETTA: The Balochistan Union of Journalists (BUJ) has expressed its gratitude to Chief Minister Balochistan, Mir Sarfaraz Bugti, for fulfilling his promise of transferring the Media Town land, allocated for journalists, to the Journalists Cooperative Housing Society within 48 hours.

CM Balochistan handed over the land transfer documents to senior journalist Saleem Shahid, BUJ President Khalil Ahmed, Quetta Press Club President, Abdul Khalilq Rind and others.

In a statement, the BUJ highlighted that this swift action demonstrates the Chief Minister’s strong support for the journalist community. The long-standing demand for the land transfer, which faced delays from various stakeholders in the past, was finally met under his leadership.

The BUJ also thanked the Chief Minister for approving substantial funds for the Journalists Welfare Fund, the Quetta Press Club, and the Media Academy. The provincial government has assured journalists that the Media Town project will proceed swiftly, with efforts underway to remove any remaining obstacles.

This action solidifies Chief Minister Bugti’s reputation as a committed advocate for journalists in the province.
