Quetta: Chief Minister Balochistan Mir Sarfraz Bugti called for the urgent need to explore new oil, gas, and mineral reserves in Balochistan during a meeting with Pakistan Petroleum Limited (PPL) CEO and Managing Director Imran Abbasi.

The meeting centered on better utilization of the province’s natural resources and addressing social welfare concerns.

Bugti emphasized the identification of new exploration blocks for oil and gas, stressing the importance of efficiently utilizing PPL’s social welfare funds, especially for Sui and Dera Bugti. He directed the development of a comprehensive Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) plan to benefit the region, with a particular focus on education, health, and basic facilities.

During the meeting, Bugti ordered PPL and provincial authorities to resolve settlement issues through mutual agreement, urging both parties to work together to finalize a solution that directly benefits the people.

He underscored the joint responsibility of the provincial government and PPL to address public problems in Sui and ensure the poor are the direct beneficiaries of welfare programs.

Bugti also prioritized the supply of gas to two colonies in Sui and highlighted the need to solve challenges faced by engineers, wheel watchers, and line walkers. He stressed that restoring public trust in national companies is possible only by resolving the issues faced by the community and making public welfare efforts effective.
