Quetta – October 19, 2024: The polio crisis in Balochistan continues to escalate, with three more cases reported, bringing the province’s total to 20.

The latest victims include a 9-month-old from Chaman, an 18-month-old from Pishin, and a 5-year-old from Noshki. This raises the national tally to 37, highlighting the alarming failure of concerned departments to contain the virus.

Despite ongoing vaccination efforts, polio remains a significant threat in Balochistan.

The inability to eradicate the virus underscores the need for urgent action, as the province battles rising cases.

Many critics are calling for a complete overhaul of the polio eradication campaign to address persistent challenges, including vaccine refusals and lack of access in certain areas.

The situation demands immediate attention from health authorities, as the virus continues to cripple young lives across the province.
