Dawood Ahmed:
ISLAMABAD: BNP leader Akhtar Hussain Langove was arrested in Islamabad after a case was registered against him and several others for allegedly manhandling staff members.
The complaint, filed by Senate officer Jameel Ahmed, accuses Langove and other Balochistan National Party (BNP) leaders, including Sardar Akhtar Mengal and Ahmed Nawaz, of misconduct during an incident in Islamabad.
The First Information Report (FIR) was lodged at the Thana Secretariat police station, detailing the alleged confrontation. Following the registration of the case, Islamabad police moved swiftly to arrest Akhtar Hussain Langove.
Sardar Akhtar Mengal, chief of BNP, confirmed Langove’s arrest on social media platform X, expressing concern over the developments.
“The authorities have arrested Mr. Langove,” Mengal tweeted, without providing further details. He however said his party would not bow down before rulers through such tactics.
The case has triggered a political debate, with many closely watching the situation as investigations continue. Law enforcement officials are gathering further evidence to determine the full extent of the allegations.
