From our Correspondent:
Political circles in Panjgur have voiced strong condemnation regarding the severe shortage of medical professionals at the teaching hospital, labeling it as mistreatment and abuse of the local populace. Critics assert that the provincial government and the Balochistan Health Department’s handling of the situation amounts to inhumane treatment towards the residents of Panjgur.
The crisis at the teaching hospital has escalated to the point where it is on the verge of collapse, further endangering the health and well-being of the community. Despite these alarming circumstances, there was a glimmer of hope last month when, through the relentless efforts of local representatives, a medical officer was finally appointed to the hospital. Dr. Yahya Baloch was sent to the teaching hospital after a protracted search for qualified personnel.
However, the optimism was short-lived. Within just a week, the provincial government made the controversial decision to transfer Dr. Baloch to another facility, once again leaving the teaching hospital without essential medical staff. This swift action has drawn ire from the people of Panjgur, who feel abandoned and neglected by their provincial authorities.
In light of the ongoing issues and the continuous cycle of personnel changes, the residents are calling on the provincial chief minister to take decisive action. They have urged that the teaching hospital be closed until a stable solution can be found to address the staffing crisis adequately. The plea reflects a growing frustration over the perceived neglect of healthcare needs in Panjgur, as citizens seek assurance that their health concerns will be prioritized by the government.
