QUETTA: Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi met with Balochistan Chief Minister Mir Sarfraz Bugti at the Chief Minister’s Secretariat in Quetta to review the security situation following a recent suicide attack targeting passengers at Quetta’s railway station. Both officials commended the sacrifices of the martyrs and reaffirmed their resolve to combat terrorism as a top priority.

During the meeting, Naqvi assured Bugti of federal support, emphasizing that the government is committed to bolstering resources for peace in Balochistan and aiding in the complete eradication of terrorism.

Chief Minister Bugti affirmed that Balochistan would employ all available resources to protect citizens and maintain order, declaring that those responsible for subversive activities will be eliminated.

The leaders later co-chaired a high-level security meeting, where they discussed expanding intelligence-based operations to counter terrorist threats effectively. Naqvi highlighted federal backing for the Levies, Police, and Counter Terrorism Department (CTD), pledging to modernize these forces to increase their operational efficiency. Prayers were offered for the martyrs, and a message of solidarity was shared with their families.

Senior officials, including Balochistan Secretary Shakeel Qadir Khan, IG Police Muazzam Jah Ansari, and Additional Chief Secretary Interior Shahab Ali Shah, participated in the meeting to reinforce their commitment to regional stability and public safety.
