Ali Khan Mandokhail:

Zhob — Transporters staged a protest by blocking the main Quetta-Islamabad Highway, voicing their frustration over repeated incidents of truck burnings in Duki and surrounding areas.

The blockade disrupted traffic on this vital route, with long queues of vehicles observed along the highway that links Balochistan with the federal capital.

Passengers faced significant delays, emerging as the primary victims of the protest, which was organized by the transporters’ community.

The protest followed an incident where militants reportedly set fire to three trucks transporting coal to Punjab, escalating concerns over security for transporters in the region.

Strict security measures were implemented by the Zhob administration to ensure public safety and prevent further disruptions. Authorities are actively engaging with protestors to find a resolution to their grievances.

This protest highlights the ongoing security challenges faced by transporters in Balochistan, with repeated attacks impacting essential supply routes and adding to the hardships of transporters and passengers alike.
