File Photo: Police on the spot after a bomb explosion in Quetta

QUETTA: At least two people were killed in separate firing incidents in the provincial capital on Wednesday, police said.

In the first incident, a local shopkeeper was shot dead inside his shop in the Killi Barat area. The victim’s identity has not been disclosed yet.

In another incident, Naseebullah, a resident of Kechi Baig, was killed in what police suspect to be a targeted attack.

The motives behind both incidents remain unclear, and investigations are underway. Law enforcement agencies have cordoned off the areas and are collecting evidence to apprehend the culprits.

Quetta has witnessed a rise in violence recently, raising concerns about public safety in the city.
