QUETTA: The Balochistan government has introduced a “Pink Scooty Initiative” to empower women by providing scooters to female government employees and students.
This effort aims to enhance women’s mobility and independence across the province.
Chief Minister Mir Sarfaraz Bugti handed over pink scooters to Tira Arif, a college student, and a female police officer during a ceremony in Quetta.
Speaking at the event, CM Bugti stated, “Scooties will be provided to female students in universities, colleges, and secondary schools to ensure their independence. We want to empower women in every possible way.”
The Chief Minister also highlighted the appointment of five female Deputy Commissioners in Balochistan, emphasizing their active roles in promoting gender equality in governance.
The initiative demonstrates the government’s commitment to fostering opportunities for women and ensuring their inclusion in various spheres of life. The distribution of pink scooters will continue in the coming months.
