QUETTA: The Balochistan government distributed 50 pink scooters to female students of Government Girls Post Graduate Degree College, Quetta, on Friday as part of its initiative to empower women in the province.
Chief Minister Mir Sarfaraz Bugti and Balochistan Education Minister Rahila Hameed Khan Durrani attended the event.
Speaking at the occasion, Chief Minister Sarfaraz Bugti emphasized the critical role women can play in the development and prosperity of the province.
Highlighting the government’s efforts, he announced the appointment of five female deputy commissioners across Balochistan, a step aimed at promoting gender equality in administrative roles.
Bugti also cautioned students against foreign conspiracies using social media and artificial intelligence to spread negativity.
He urged the youth to reject enemy propaganda and contribute responsibly to Pakistan’s progress. Referring to past tragedies, including attacks on Sardar Bahadur Khan Women’s University and the Hazara community, the Chief Minister underscored the resilience of Balochistan in combating terrorism.
During the ceremony, 48 pink scooters were handed over to students on the spot. Education Minister reiterated the government’s commitment to supporting girls’ education in Balochistan, vowing to expand initiatives that empower women.
This initiative is a part of the provincial government’s broader mission to boost educational opportunities for girls and foster women’s empowerment in Balochistan.
