QUETTA: Governor Balochistan Jafar Khan Mandokhail has called for collective efforts to eliminate corruption, emphasizing its devastating impact on national development and public welfare. Speaking at a seminar organized by the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) on International Anti-Corruption Day, he urged the government, institutions, youth, and academia to play their roles in eradicating corruption.
Mandokhail highlighted that corruption affects every aspect of life, depriving people of their rights and hindering societal progress. He stressed the need for practical steps at individual and institutional levels, urging a deeper understanding of corruption and its root causes.
The seminar, held in Quetta, was attended by Provincial Advisor Muhammad Khan Lehri, NAB Director General Noman Aslam, Vice Chancellors Dr. Hafeez Sheikh and Dr. Rubina Mushtaq, and former Chief Secretary Munir Ahmed Bandini, among others. Students, experts, and people from various walks of life also participated.
A rally led by the governor marked the occasion, followed by the distribution of commemorative shields to organizers and participants. Governor Mandokhail reiterated the government’s responsibility to implement concrete measures to prevent the misuse of public resources and restore public trust in institutions.
He concluded with a call to action: “On this day, we must renew our commitment to building a corruption-free and prosperous Pakistan.”
