Quetta, Feb: Police arrested three Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leaders during a raid at the party’s office in Quetta on Tuesday evening. The detained leaders include Syed Iqbal Shah Advocate, Jameel Bostan Advocate, and Sardar Zainul Abdeen.
According to sources, the leaders were holding a meeting to plan a Black Day protest on February 8 against what PTI claims are engineered elections in the country. A heavy police contingent raided the office and took them into custody.
While no official statement has been issued by the government, PTI leaders, including Noor Khan Khilji, strongly condemned the arrests. This crackdown on our leaders is a desperate attempt to silence our democratic movement, Khilji stated.
Police also attempted to arrest PTI Balochistan President Dawood Shah Kakar, but he was not present at the time of the raid.
Khilji reaffirmed the party’s commitment, saying, we will continue our struggle for the supremacy of the Constitution and Parliament, no matter how many of our leaders are arrested.
