Quetta, February 17: Governor Balochistan Jafar Khan Mandokhail has inaugurated the “Balochistan Center for Excellence in Renewable Energy”, marking a significant milestone in the province’s journey towards sustainable energy solutions. This initiative, a remarkable partnership between Pakistan and Germany, reflects their shared commitment to socio-economic development and clean energy solutions in Balochistan.

Speaking at the launch ceremony, Governor Mandokhail highlighted the Balochistan Rural Support Program (BRSP) as a key institution with outreach across almost every district of the province. He commended BRSP’s team for their relentless efforts in driving development and promoting renewable energy.

Key Dignitaries Attend the Launch

The ceremony was attended by prominent figures, including:
• Prof. Dr. Khalid Hafeez (Vice-Chancellor, BUITEMS University)
• Dr. Zahoor Ahmad Bazai (Vice-Chancellor, University of Balochistan)
• Dr. Rubina Mushtaq (Vice-Chancellor, Women University)
• Nasrullah Jan (Accountant General, Balochistan)
• Sahibzada Najeebullah (Additional Secretary, Energy Department)
• Malik Anwar Saleem Kasi (Chairman, BRSP)
• Dr. Tahir Rasheed (CEO, BRSP)
• Nasrullah Khan Bareech (Center for Peace and Development)

Religious scholars, minority representatives, and a large number of attendees from various fields were also present.

A New Chapter in Renewable Energy for Balochistan

Governor Mandokhail emphasized that the Center for Excellence will accelerate Balochistan’s transition towards a sustainable and environmentally friendly future. The initiative, made possible through collaboration between BRSP, Petrip Foundation, and BUITEMS University, aims to address energy challenges and promote clean energy adoption.

He acknowledged Germany’s unwavering support for Balochistan’s socio-economic development, particularly in empowering youth, creating job opportunities, and advancing renewable energy technologies.

Government’s Commitment to Renewable Energy

The governor assured full support from the Balochistan government, recognizing energy conservation as a key driver of economic growth. He pledged to facilitate and promote clean energy projects for a sustainable future.

At the end of the ceremony, Governor Mandokhail distributed commemorative shields among distinguished guests, experts, and event organizers.
