QUETTA: Chief Minister Balochistan, Mir Sarfaraz Bugti, has directed the Deputy Commissioner of Quetta to register an FIR against anyone involved in wall chalking, emphasizing that no one should deface the city’s walls.

Speaking at the launch of various projects under the Quetta Development and Beautification Plan on Thursday, Bugti criticized political parties and private schools for writing slogans and advertisements on public walls, which he said had tarnished the provincial capital’s appearance.

“No sane person can support this. Keeping Quetta clean is our collective responsibility,” he stated.

The CM also urged citizens to follow traffic rules and respect signals. He shared his own experience of stopping at the city’s only traffic signal, calling it a positive sign for law enforcement.

“The law must be applied equally to everyone. If I had been allowed to break the signal, it would have made these traffic rules meaningless,” he said.

The beautification plan aims to restore Quetta’s charm by addressing urban issues, including wall chalking, illegal advertising, and traffic violations.
