Bajaur: Students from Bajaur, an ex-FATA district, have raised serious concerns over medical seats being unfairly awarded to candidates with fraudulent domiciles. In a press conference, student representatives alleged that individuals from other parts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) and beyond are obtaining fake domiciles to claim seats meant for local students.
Speaking at the event, Mr. Rahat Veer, a student representative, emphasized the need for transparency in seat allocation. “We demand that admissions be strictly based on merit and granted only to candidates possessing a valid Family Registration Certificate (FRC) from our district,” he stated.
Another student, Farhan, expressed frustration over the growing trend of outsiders taking advantage of the system. “It has become a routine practice for students from other regions to forge domiciles and deprive Bajaur’s deserving students of their rightful opportunities,” he said.
The students urged the government and relevant authorities to take immediate action against this malpractice, ensuring that only eligible candidates from Bajaur secure medical seats. They also called for strict verification processes to prevent further exploitation of the system.
The issue of fake domiciles affecting educational opportunities in ex-FATA districts, including Bajaur, has been a longstanding concern. Students and local activists argue that unless stringent policies are implemented, talented minds from these regions will continue to suffer.
This controversy highlights the urgent need for a fair and transparent admission process, protecting the rights of local students and upholding merit-based selection. The students vowed to continue their protests until their demands are met.
