SIBI: Commissioner Sibi Division, Zahid Shah, along with Sardarzada Mir Hairbiyar Khan Domki and Deputy Commissioner Sibi, Jahanzeb Sheikh, officially inaugurated a tree plantation campaign initiated by Tameer-e-Khalaq Foundation with support from Citi Foundation.
The plantation drive commenced at the Agricultural Exhibition Ground, where Commissioner Zaib Shah and Sardarzada Mir Hairbiyar Khan Domki planted the first saplings. Project Manager of Tameer-e-Khalaq Foundation, Mahmood Tareen, stated that under the 2025 plantation initiative, 28,000 fruit-bearing trees will be planted with the collaboration of farmers and local communities.
Deputy Director of the Agriculture Department, Ghulam Mustafa Gorgage, was also present at the event. Commissioner Zaib Shah and Sardarzada Mir Hairbiyar Khan Domki appreciated the efforts of Tameer-e-Khalaq Foundation, emphasizing the importance of tree plantation in combating environmental pollution.
They urged citizens to participate in the drive, highlighting that planting trees is a noble cause and a form of worship. Given the challenges posed by climate change, they stressed that both the government and the public must actively engage in afforestation efforts.
