QUETTA: Member Provincial Assembly (MPA) from Jamiat up Ulema e Islam (JUI), Mir Zafarullah Zehri has called for a political solution to Balochistan’s issues, emphasizing that key leaders like Mahmood Khan Achakzai, Dr. Malik Baloch, and Jamil Akbar Bugti should be given space to create an environment for meaningful negotiations. Speaking at a session of the Balochistan Assembly, he stressed that a peaceful resolution could only be achieved through inclusive dialogue.
Zehri spoke at length about the deteriorating law and order situation, lashing out at the federal and provincial governments for their failure to protect the lives and properties of the people. He argued that there is no real governance in Pakistan and that the government has completely failed to maintain security in Balochistan.
He urged the ruling authorities to engage with all political figures to find a way forward. “For a strong federation, the rulers must listen to every political leader and seek their advice,” he stated. Zehri reiterated that peace in Balochistan requires collective efforts, and sidelining key voices would only deepen the crisis.
Zehri also mentioned his upcoming book, From Parliament to the Mountains, which he said would provide deeper insights into Balochistan’s struggles and the need for a fair, political approach to resolving the province’s long-standing issues.
