Quetta, March 11 – A spokesperson for the Balochistan government has confirmed reports of an attack on the Jaffar Express passenger train between Gudalar and Piru Kunri. Independent sources confirm that the train driver has been injured.

The incident has triggered panic, with security forces rushing to the area. Due to the mountainous terrain, reaching the site is proving difficult. Authorities are treating the situation as highly alarming, with emergency measures underway.

Government spokesperson Shahid Rind stated, “The government of Balochistan strongly condemns this attack on innocent passengers. We are committed to ensuring the safety of our people, and all necessary actions are being taken to respond to this incident.”

The Jaffar Express consists of nine coaches and carries approximately 500 passengers, according to railway officials.

Armed individuals have stopped the train inside Tunnel No. 8, railway officials report.

Efforts are underway to establish contact with passengers and the train crew, says Railway Controller Muhammad Kashif.
