Quetta, March 28: Balochistan’s provincial ministers and the government spokesperson have strongly condemned the recent terrorist attacks in the province, calling them a systematic conspiracy by anti-state elements. They assured that strict action would be taken against terrorism and all conspiracies against Pakistan would be thwarted.
Addressing a press conference at the Chief Minister’s Secretariat on Friday, Provincial Minister for Planning and Development Mir Zahoor Buledi stated that innocent passengers were taken hostage and brutally killed in the Jaffar Express attack. He also condemned the Gwadar bus attack, where innocent civilians were taken off the vehicle and executed.
Buledi further expressed grief over the targeted killing of renowned doctor Mehrullah Tareen, who was known for his professional excellence and dedication to public service. He emphasized that the government is taking these incidents seriously and will not tolerate elements hindering Balochistan’s progress.
Provincial Finance Minister Mir Shoaib Nosherwani acknowledged that Balochistan is facing a new wave of terrorism but assured that the government, with the support of its citizens, is determined to eliminate the menace. He admitted that some areas in Balochistan suffer from deprivation and poor governance, but practical measures are being taken to address these issues and improve law and order.
Government spokesperson Shahid Rind reaffirmed that the provincial government is committed to resolving issues through dialogue. He mentioned that Chief Minister Balochistan Mir Sarfaraz Bugti has extended an offer to the opposition for negotiations to address key concerns. Rind stressed that the government has a clear and firm stance against terrorism and warned that those committing ethnically or identity-motivated killings would face strict action.
The ministers and spokesperson assured that the Balochistan government is taking all possible steps to protect citizens’ lives and property and will not tolerate any terrorist activities in the province.
