Qaseem Shah:

QUETTA – A devastating terror attack has been successfully thwarted in Quetta after the Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) Balochistan carried out a major intelligence-based operation in the Sariab Road area, officials confirmed on Saturday.

According to a CTD spokesperson, the raid led to the recovery of a large cache of arms and explosives, including IEDs (Improvised Explosive Devices), automatic weapons, hand grenades, and various types of ammunition. The operation was launched following credible intelligence inputs indicating suspicious movements and the storage of weapons in the area.

“The swift and professional response by CTD teams has averted a potentially deadly terrorist attack in Quetta,” the spokesperson stated. “Preliminary investigations suggest that the terrorists were planning a major attack within the next 24 to 72 hours.” The operation, based on local and agency-led intelligence, was carried out as a preventive measure to secure the city from an imminent threat.

Though no suspects were present at the location during the raid, CTD teams have launched a series of follow-up operations to apprehend the unknown individuals involved. Raids are ongoing in various parts of the city.

“No one will be allowed to disrupt the peace and security of Balochistan,” the CTD Balochistan vowed in a firm statement.

This successful operation comes at a time when security agencies are on high alert amid threats of growing militancy in the region. Authorities have urged citizens to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activity to law enforcement agencies.
