The police mobile was attacked in Quetta

Staff Reporter:

QUETTA, April 9, 2025 – A tragic incident unfolded on Wednesday as unidentified assailants opened fire on a police mobile in Quetta’s Sariab Road area, resulting in the martyrdom of three police personnel, according to the spokesperson for the Balochistan government.

The police mobile was targeted during routine patrol duties when the gunmen ambushed the vehicle and fled the scene. The area was immediately cordoned off by security forces, and a search operation is currently underway.

Government spokesperson Shahid Rind confirmed the casualties and said that evidence is being collected from the crime scene while investigations are ongoing to track down those responsible.

“The incident is highly condemnable,” said Rind. “We will ensure that those behind this cowardly attack are brought to justice.”

He added that the government will not allow anti-social elements to destabilize peace in Balochistan. “The sacrifices of our martyred policemen will not go in vain. Every attempt to sabotage peace in the province will be foiled,” he said.

This latest attack has once again raised concerns about the security situation in Quetta, particularly in sensitive areas like Sariab Road, which has witnessed similar incidents in the past.

Authorities have vowed strict action and increased patrols in the area to prevent further violence.
