QUETTA, April 18 –A blast occurred near Mari Camp in the Hazarganji area of Quetta on Wednesday, leaving a minor child injured, according to police sources.

Law enforcement officials said the nature of the explosion is suspected to be a landmine, although investigations are currently underway to determine the exact cause.

The injured child was promptly shifted to a local hospital, where doctors have declared his condition as stable, police confirmed.

Security forces cordoned off the area following the explosion, and a bomb disposal squad was also called in to sweep the vicinity for any additional threats.

This is the latest in a series of incidents that have raised concerns over security and the presence of explosive materials in residential areas around Quetta.
