Quetta: Balochistan Chief Minister Mir Sarfraz Bugti chaired an important meeting on the province’s umbrella education schemes, focusing on transparency, effective implementation, and prioritization of underdeveloped areas.
The meeting reviewed the progress of education-related projects and emphasized aligning estimated costs with allocated resources.
The Chief Minister directed the concerned departments to conduct a comprehensive survey of educational needs in all districts, ensuring a data-driven approach to planning.
“There should be harmony between project costs and the funds allocated,” said CM Bugti, stressing that resource allocation must be transparent and free from all forms of bias.
Highlighting the challenges faced by schools lacking basic facilities, the Chief Minister instructed that such institutions be given priority under the umbrella schemes. He further ordered that underprivileged districts be favored to address longstanding educational disparities.
CM Bugti also emphasized the importance of activating district-level monitoring committees to ensure effective oversight of developmental projects. He underscored that transparency and results-oriented implementation must remain top priorities.
“The community’s voice should also be considered while planning education initiatives,” he added, underlining the importance of local engagement.
The high-level meeting was attended by Provincial Education Minister Raheela Hameed Khan Durrani, Finance Minister Mir Shoaib Nosherwani, Advisor for Local Government Nawabzada Baba Amir Hamza Zehri, Additional Chief Secretary (Development) Hafiz Abdul Basit, Principal Secretary Babar Khan, Secretary Education Saleh Muhammad Nasir, Secretary Finance Imran Zarkoon, and other key officials.
