CHAGAI: In a major success, Chagai police foiled a planned terrorism and kidnapping-for-ransom attempt through a timely operation near Dalbandin.
According to officials, a mobile police team stationed at Faisal Colony, Dalbandin, spotted a suspicious Hilux vehicle carrying armed men. Upon seeing the police, the suspects opened fire, prompting the officers to retaliate and chase the vehicle.
The pursuit continued into the NLC area of Dalbandin, where, after an exchange of fire, one suspected terrorist was arrested along with the Hilux vehicle and a cache of heavy weapons. Later, a search operation was launched in the surrounding area, resulting in the arrest of another suspected terrorist.
Preliminary investigations revealed that the arrested individuals were planning acts of terrorism and kidnapping for ransom in the area. Police said efforts are underway to apprehend a third suspect who managed to flee.
District Police Chagai’s spokesperson praised the team’s swift response, stating that their action prevented a major disaster and ensured the safety of local residents.
