QUETTA – In a disturbing incident following the Safa Quetta episode, a Green Bus driver was physically assaulted by unidentified individuals on Airport Road, raising serious concerns about the security of public transport workers.

According to sources, the incident occurred while the bus was passing through the Airport Road area. The attackers stopped the vehicle, forcibly removed the driver, and brutally beat him before fleeing the scene in a white Vigo vehicle. The motive behind the assault remains unknown at this stage.

Eyewitnesses said the attack appeared sudden and targeted. Police and city administration have launched an official investigation, and surveillance footage from nearby cameras is being reviewed to identify the suspects.

The incident has triggered public outrage. Citizens condemned the assault and urged authorities to enhance security measures, especially for public transport staff, who are frequently exposed to such risks.

“We demand immediate action and the arrest of the culprits. The government must prioritize the safety of bus drivers and passengers on key routes like Airport Road,” a local resident said.
