Amid escalating regional tensions following Israeli airstrikes on Iran, Pakistan has temporarily shut all border crossing points with Iran to safeguard national security. The move comes as part of a broader security strategy to contain potential fallout from the ongoing Middle East conflict.

Despite the border closure, Pakistan is actively repatriating its citizens stranded in Iran. According to Levies officials, over 1,200 Pakistani nationals—including traders, students, and religious pilgrims—have been brought back safely through the Taftan border using 37 dedicated buses. Just today, 78 more individuals, including 47 students, crossed into Pakistan under tight security.
Authorities have intensified security deployments across Chagai and adjacent border districts to prevent any cross-border spillover of violence or instability.
Officials in Taftan have confirmed that all returnees are being accommodated at Pakistan House, where they are receiving essential support, including food, shelter, and medical care to ensure a safe and dignified transition.
This large-scale, government-led repatriation underscores Pakistan’s swift response to regional unrest and its unwavering commitment to the safety and well-being of its citizens abroad.
