: The Pakistan Medical and Dental Council (PMDC) has officially announced that MBBS and BDS admissions for 2025 will be strictly based on a candidate’s domicile, marking a major policy shift. According to the new PMDC policy, students will only be eligible to apply to medical and dental colleges located within their home province. This decision aims to promote fairness and equal opportunity across all regions of Pakistan.

In addition, PMDC has clarified that candidates will not be allowed to appear for the MDCAT 2025 exam outside their domicile province. Each student must sit the test in their respective province, eliminating the option of cross-provincial test-taking. This move addresses long-standing concerns about imbalances in competition and access to limited seats in public sector medical colleges.

The MDCAT 2025 exam is expected to be held in the last week of September or the first week of October, with final dates to be announced soon. PMDC has advised students to ensure their domicile documents are updated and to prepare according to their provincial syllabus. More details on registration, ans test centers will be shared on the official PMDC website in the coming weeks.
