From Our Correspondent:

ZIARAT (Web Desk) – A tragic incident unfolded in Ziarat district on Saturday as three girls drowned in the Man Zarghi Dam. According to officials, rescue teams managed to save two of the girls through timely action, while the body of the third was recovered after an hours-long search operation.

The two rescued girls — 16-year-old Bibi Aqeeda, daughter of Muhammad Afzal, and 26-year-old Bibi Najma, wife of Muhammad Jameel — were shifted to DHQ Hospital Ziarat for first aid. However, 22-year-old Bibi Rubina, daughter of Muhammad Hashim, was pulled out of the dam lifeless.

Deputy Commissioner Ziarat, Zakaullah Durrani, confirmed that murky waters and unstable depth levels in the dam severely hampered the search and rescue efforts.

According to local administration, the girls were at the site collecting debris that had accumulated in the dam following recent flash floods.

Authorities reminded the public that a weather advisory had already been issued by the provincial government, urging people to remain cautious during the monsoon season.

The district administration has once again appealed to residents to avoid visiting dangerous or unprotected water bodies to prevent such heartbreaking incidents in the future.
