Qaseem Shah:

QUETTA (Web Desk) – In a major step toward fast-tracking development, the Government of Balochistan has released Rs50 billion in development funds on the very first night of the new fiscal year 2025–26, marking a historic financial move in the province’s governance.

The official notification was issued by the Balochistan Finance Department shortly after midnight on July 1, signaling the government’s commitment to accelerating public development initiatives without delay.

According to officials, the decision was made under the vision of Chief Minister Mir Sarfraz Bugti, with full support from Chief Secretary Shakeel Qadir Khan and implemented by Secretary Finance Imran Zarkoon and his team. By ensuring fund disbursement on the first day of the fiscal year, the provincial government has set a new precedent for administrative efficiency and financial readiness.

During the previous fiscal year, the Balochistan government focused heavily on strategy-driven reviews, consistent monitoring, and timely resource allocation. This led to the successful completion of multiple public welfare projects. The current release of funds reflects the government’s intention to continue that momentum and improve the overall development delivery framework across the province.

According to the Finance Department, the released funds will be utilized for rapid implementation of approved development projects in critical sectors such as health, education, irrigation, energy, road infrastructure, and drinking water supply. The goal is to ensure that the people of Balochistan benefit as quickly as possible from public sector investments.

Analysts say that the timely release of such a substantial development package not only reflects the government’s administrative discipline but also offers a new model for other provinces to follow. The move indicates that Balochistan is entering a new era of coordinated planning, swift execution, and responsible resource management.

The government reiterated its commitment to inclusive growth, infrastructure development, and public service delivery, affirming that these funds would be the backbone of transformative change in the province’s social and economic landscape.
