Education Desk:
Quetta – In a significant development, the Balochistan Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education (BBISE), Quetta, has officially removed Ms. Abida Kakar from her role as Controller of Examinations following corruption allegations leveled against her.
According to an office order dated July 7, 2025, the Chairman of BBISE has assigned Mr. Noor Ahmed, Additional Controller (Examinations), to take charge of the post with immediate effect. The decision has been taken to ensure “smooth official functioning” while the inquiry against Ms. Kakar is underway.
The order explicitly cites the “charges of corruption” as the reason for the administrative reshuffle. It also directs relevant departments and all BBISE branches to acknowledge the change and coordinate accordingly.
This action comes just days after multiple official letters surfaced online, exposing a serious internal rift between top BBISE officials. The conflict centered around issues of alleged misconduct in examination processes and result preparation — further intensifying public concern over the transparency and credibility of the Board’s operations.
The notification has been circulated to key government officials, including the Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister, secretaries of education departments, and the Chief Secretary’s office.
This latest move underscores the urgent need for institutional reforms in Balochistan’s education boards and raises questions about governance, accountability, and the future of students whose academic progress hinges on fair and timely examinations.
