Bajaur — In a tragic incident in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s Bajaur district, unknown assailants opened fire on Awami National Party (ANP) leader Maulana Khan Zeb, resulting in his death along with a police officer. Three other individuals sustained injuries in the attack.

According to District Police Officer (DPO) Bajaur, Waqas Rafiq, the incident occurred near Shandai Morr where Maulana Khan Zeb was campaigning as part of the “Aman Pasoon Jirga” (Peace Initiative). He was targeted by unidentified gunmen riding motorcycles who opened indiscriminate fire.

Maulana Khan Zeb died on the spot, while a police officer also lost his life in the attack. The injured were shifted to a nearby hospital for medical treatment. Police have collected evidence from the scene and launched an investigation.

According to the official ANP website, Maulana Khan Zeb was a member of the party’s central cabinet and served as the Secretary for Religious Affairs.

The incident has been widely condemned, and law enforcement agencies are actively working to trace the attackers.
