Serious allegations of irregularities and favoritism have emerged regarding recent government recruitments under the SBK program in Khuzdar. District Education Officer (DEO) Abid Hussain is accused of ignoring explicit directives from the Chief Minister of Balochistan and the Commissioner of Kalat Division, allegedly conducting the recruitment process in a non-transparent manner.
According to several affected candidates, the DEO hired individuals with fake local domicile certificates and even those without the required B.Ed qualifications. Many of the selected candidates are reportedly relatives or individuals with financial links to the DEO. The aggrieved candidates submitted written complaints to the Deputy Commissioner of Khuzdar, the Commissioner Kalat Division, and through the Chief Minister’s complaint portal.
Sources confirm that the Commissioner of Kalat Division took notice of the situation and prepared a detailed Minutes of Meeting outlining the DEO’s alleged misconduct, which were formally sent to the Secretary of Education. These minutes are still available at the Commissioner’s office.
Additionally, a representative from the Chief Minister’s complaint portal reached out to the complainants, reportedly informing them that the DEO had admitted to his mistakes, and based on that admission, the case was being closed.
However, the matter took a new turn when the DEO issued a revised approved list, once again including the names of those previously challenged for ineligibility or favoritism. When questioned by the candidates, the DEO claimed that the Secretary of Education did not act upon the commissioner’s minutes, suggesting the matter should now be taken up with higher authorities.
It is worth noting that DEO Abid Hussain has previously been accused of corruption, with similar reports published in various newspapers across Balochistan. Despite this, no formal action has been taken against him so far.
The affected candidates are now urging the provincial authorities to conduct a transparent investigation, ensure merit-based recruitment, and take immediate disciplinary action against officials involved in misconduct.
