Qaseem Shah:

Quetta, July 30 — Balochistan Chief Minister Mir Sarfraz Bugti has taken strong notice of the controversial appointment of retired officer Murad Muhammad Mari to two key administrative posts, ordering an immediate inquiry into the matter.

The CM’s directive follows widespread concern on social media and among the public regarding Mari’s dual appointment as Tehsildar of Kuchlak and additional charge of the Settlement Office Quetta.

According to Government Spokesperson Shahid Rind, the Chief Minister has directed the Chief Minister’s Inspection Team (CMIT) to investigate the alleged misuse of authority and violations of rules and regulations. The inquiry team has been given one week to submit a detailed report to the CM for further legal action.

Acting promptly on the CM’s instructions, the Balochistan Board of Revenue has officially cancelled the notification of Murad Mari’s appointment issued on July 29, 2025. A formal statement released by the department confirmed that the notification has been declared null and void, and all concerned institutions and officers have been informed.

Government spokesperson Shahid Rind emphasized that under the leadership of CM Sarfraz Bugti, the Government of Balochistan remains fully committed to transparency, accountability, and the rule of law. “No illegal appointment or misuse of authority will be tolerated,” he said.

The swift government response is being viewed as a test case for governance reform and a message against favoritism and administrative irregularities in the province.
