Syed Ali Shah:

Quetta – Mobile internet services remained suspended across Quetta and several other districts of Balochistan for the second consecutive day, leaving residents frustrated and digitally cut off.

The unannounced suspension has disrupted daily life, particularly affecting students, healthcare professionals, and those working in the media and freelance sectors. Despite widespread disruption, no official statement has been issued by the federal or provincial government.

However, sources suggest that the blackout is linked to security concerns, citing a “potential threat” as the reason behind the shutdown.

Ali Muhammad, a schoolteacher from Nawan Killi, said, “I haven’t been able to check on my students or access online resources. Everything is on hold.”

Zareen Khan, a final-year student from Sariab, shared, “I had an online test scheduled today, but with no internet, I missed it entirely. Who will take responsibility?”

Syra Atta, a health worker, added, “We rely on mobile apps to track patient data and medicine availability. This suspension is damaging.”

With businesses, education, and healthcare systems increasingly reliant on digital infrastructure, many are demanding clarity from the government and immediate restoration of services.
