Staff Reporter:

Quetta – Balochistan Assembly’s Deputy Parliamentary Leader, Mir Rahmat Saleh Baloch, has tabled an adjournment motion condemning the ongoing suspension of mobile internet services across the province.

In his motion, Baloch highlighted that on August 6, the provincial authorities ordered the shutdown of 4G and 5G services until August 31, paralysing daily life and business operations. He said educational institutions, including universities, colleges, and English-medium schools, have been forced to halt classes, leaving thousands of students unable to attend online lectures.

He further stressed that the shutdown has disrupted online businesses, hindered the work of law-enforcement agencies, and even affected routine traffic policing. “This is a blatant violation of fundamental human rights, and the people are living in a state of frustration and uncertainty,” Baloch stated.

He urged the Assembly to suspend its regular agenda to discuss the issue and called for the immediate restoration of mobile internet services to ease public hardship.
