Quetta, August 25, 2025 – Balochistan Chief Minister Mir Sarfraz Bugti on Monday chaired a high-level consultative meeting to review preparations for the upcoming National Finance Commission (NFC) Award, emphasizing transparency, inclusivity, and consensus-building.
Provincial Finance Minister Mir Shoaib Nosherwani gave a detailed briefing during the session, highlighting financial challenges and provincial priorities.
Chief Minister Bugti said that the government has decided to hold consultations with all political parties and experts, including those without representation in parliament, to formulate a unified and strong stance for Balochistan. “The purpose of this consultation is to present a consensus-based position that reflects the province’s needs and aspirations,” he noted.
He stressed that the NFC Award must address Balochistan’s specific requirements and priorities, ensuring fair resource allocation, transparency, and inclusivity. Bugti added that the Award should be seen as an opportunity to strengthen federal harmony and promote national cohesion.
“The expectations and hopes of the people of Balochistan should be reflected in the NFC Award,” the chief minister said, underscoring the importance of balance among provinces. He further stated that inputs from economists and intellectuals will also be incorporated into the process.
Bugti expressed confidence that equitable resource distribution would pave the way for development and prosperity in the province. “Our collective success lies in a strong and stable federation. The NFC Award must become a means of building national trust and unity,” he concluded.
