News Desk:

The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) foiled an attempt to travel abroad on fake documents at Sialkot International Airport, offloading a passenger who was trying to board a flight to Greece.

According to FIA officials, the passenger, identified as Umar Farooq, a resident of Jhelum, was scheduled to travel on flight number G9553 when immigration staff found his Greek residence card to be forged.

Initial investigations revealed that Farooq had obtained the fake card from an agent based in Dina in exchange for Rs. 1.3 million. The agent allegedly promised him safe passage to Europe, but instead left him stranded with bogus documents.

The FIA has handed over the passenger to the Anti-Human Trafficking Circle Gujrat for further legal action and to trace the agent involved in the scam.

FIA spokesperson urged citizens not to hand over their personal documents to unauthorized individuals and to always apply for visas directly through the embassies and consulates of the concerned countries.

This latest case highlights the growing menace of human traffickers exploiting desperate individuals with false promises of migration to Europe.
