Quetta: The Balochistan government has approved the establishment of the province’s first-ever provincial bank, the “Bank of Balochistan,” aiming to strengthen the local economy, promote investment, and generate employment opportunities.
The landmark decision was taken in a meeting chaired by Chief Minister Mir Sarfraz Bugti, where the initial feasibility report was reviewed and declared feasible. The CM directed officials to prepare a comprehensive operational plan within one week.
Speaking on the occasion, CM Bugti said the Bank of Balochistan will provide modern banking facilities to the public, traders, and investors, calling it a “historic milestone” for the province’s financial sector. He emphasized that the initiative would not only speed up development projects but also create new job opportunities for youth.
Provincial Finance Minister Mir Shoaib Nosherwani, Chief Secretary Shakeel Qadir Khan, Principal Secretary Babar Khan, and senior officials attended the meeting, while banking experts joined online and assured support for making the bank operational at the earliest.
“The people of Balochistan will soon hear good news regarding this project. This is not just a bank, but an institution that will reshape the province’s economic future,” CM Bugti added.
