Qaseem Shah:

Quetta: Chief Minister Balochistan Mir Sarfraz Bugti inaugurated the newly established Cath Lab at Quetta Civil Hospital, the largest healthcare facility in the province.

Speaking at the inauguration, the Chief Minister highlighted that Civil Hospital had long faced a demand for MRI services, which has now been fulfilled with the installation of modern machinery. “From today, 24/7 MRI services will be available here at an affordable cost,” he stated.

He further added that the Cath Lab and Cardiac Services will also operate round the clock, ensuring patients receive uninterrupted treatment.

Addressing systemic issues, Bugti admitted that one of the biggest challenges in Balochistan’s health sector had been the shortage of medicines. To curb corruption and ensure transparency, the government has introduced digital medicine labs.

The Chief Minister paid tribute to Dr. Wasay, who previously earned Rs. 3.6 million salary in London, but has returned to Pakistan to serve voluntarily at Quetta Civil Hospital. “His new salary here will be Rs. 250,000, yet he chose to dedicate his expertise for the people of Balochistan,” Bugti said, announcing that the government will recommend Dr. Wasay for a Civil Award in recognition of his services.

Bugti also extended an open invitation to political opponents, stating: “If anyone has issues with the government, we are ready to sit and resolve them through dialogue.”
