Qaseem Shah:

Quetta police have registered a case of the deadly Shahwani Stadium blast at the Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) police station. According to police sources, the First Information Report (FIR) includes charges of murder, attempted murder, terrorism, use of explosives, and other serious offenses. The explosion, which ripped through a Balochistan National Party-Mengal (BNP-M) gathering, left at least 15 people dead and 36 others injured.

Balochistan Chief Minister Mir Sarfraz Bugti condemned the attack in the strongest terms, calling it a cowardly attempt to destabilize the province. Chairing a high-level meeting on law and order, he directed law enforcement agencies to bring the perpetrators to justice and assured families of the victims that they would not be left alone in their grief.

Bugti emphasized that the provincial government was fully committed to restoring peace and strengthening security measures. He further instructed officials to provide the best possible medical care to the injured, including shifting critically wounded patients to Karachi via air ambulance if necessary.

Authorities said security has been tightened across Quetta and other sensitive areas following the blast, while investigators are collecting evidence to trace those behind the attack. Political parties across the province, including BNP-M, PKMAP and National Party, have announced three days of mourning in solidarity with the victims.

The Chief Minister also appealed to the public and political leadership to cooperate with security agencies, stressing that unity was crucial in defeating terrorism.
