Quetta: Four terrorists were neutralized during a Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) operation in Balochistan’s Pishin district, officials confirmed on Thursday.
The operation was carried out after intelligence indicated the presence of armed extremists in the area. A heavy exchange of fire broke out, leaving four militants dead. Security officials reported seizing two machine guns, two 9mm pistols, hand grenades, explosives, and detonators from the site. Authorities said the group was preparing to carry out attacks, but the swift action of CTD forces prevented bloodshed.
Reacting to the development, Balochistan Chief Minister Mir Sarfraz Bugti praised the courage and efficiency of the CTD personnel. He said the timely operation had thwarted a major terror plan and reassured the public of the government’s unwavering commitment to peace.
“Our mission is clear — terrorism and extremism will be eradicated from Balochistan. We will not allow these elements to destabilize our province,” the chief minister said in a press statement.
Bugti added that his government would continue to extend full support to security agencies in their ongoing campaign against militancy.
