CPEC Project to Revive Gaddani, Says Governor Balochistan

Quetta: Governor Balochistan Jaffar Khan Mandokhail has said that the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) holds the potential to break regional economic stagnation and reshape the destiny of connected countries.

Speaking to a delegation of Chinese businessmen led by Balochistan Economic Forum President Sardar Shoukat Popalzai, Governor Mandokhail announced that, for the first time, Blue Wave Mercantile will invest in Gaddani’s shipbreaking industry.

He said the investment will modernize the sector with advanced technology, ensure eco-friendly practices, and create thousands of jobs by providing youth with new skills. “As the shipbreaking industry grows, Gaddani will emerge as a regional economic hub, attract new investors, and help drive Pakistan toward a more prosperous future,” he added.

The meeting was also attended by Provincial Finance Minister Mir Shoaib Nosherwani, PAKECO Marine Solutions MD Raja Taimoor Rehman, Blue Wave Mercantile CEO Mr. Likui Liu, and other company representatives.

Governor Mandokhail stressed that Balochistan must receive its rightful share in CPEC projects, particularly in Gaddani, where land worth billions is being utilized. He said the development should benefit not only private investors but also the provincial government.

He further noted that Balochistan offers vast investment opportunities in fisheries, agriculture, and livestock, and can benefit from the expertise of China and other developed nations. Both federal and provincial governments, he assured, are committed to providing full protection to local and international investors.

The meeting concluded with an exchange of commemorative shields and gifts between Governor Mandokhail and the Chinese delegation.
