Quetta – Balochistan has become the first province in Pakistan to introduce an automated digital financial e-filing system, officially inaugurated by Chief Minister Mir Sarfraz Bugti on Tuesday.
Speaking at the launch, CM Bugti described the e-filing system as a milestone towards transparency, good governance, and modern technology. He said the new system would provide citizens with direct access to the financial and physical progress of development projects in their constituencies, accessible through mobile phones and laptops.
“The system will not only help officers make timely and accurate decisions but also eliminate the ‘under-the-table’ practices from the public sector,” the Chief Minister emphasized. He added that cabinet meetings will now be conducted using digital tablets, ensuring swift decision-making without delays.
Highlighting the system’s impact, Bugti said it guarantees transparent governance and effective utilization of public resources in Balochistan. He directed all secretaries to implement the e-filing system in their respective departments at the earliest.
According to a briefing by Finance Secretary Imran Zarkoon, the system has been developed entirely by local IT experts. Departments will now submit their budget requests online, with every stage of approval and financial transparency documented in detail.
The Chief Minister also praised Provincial Finance Minister Mir Shoaib Nosherwani, Finance Secretary Imran Zarkoon, and their team for their efforts. To acknowledge their achievement, CM Bugti announced commendation certificates and bonuses for the e-filing team.
